Because of the length of my answer, I'm going to post a new blog which will answer your points as well as others I've seen raised.DanceWorldMumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08807059523140470660noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3074934931412727909.post-37271242476665020262010-09-15T14:49:44.100-07:002010-09-15T14:49:44.100-07:00PS I must genuinely compliment you on your skilled...PS I must genuinely compliment you on your skilled writing style. This "blog" entry reads like a newspaper article. How about you give us the same courtesy?

Whilst you have some valid points, you push the boundaries way too far, in fact I find some of your comments almost to the point of slanderous.

I would love to reply to many of your comments, but I need to sleep. Perhaps I may do so tomorrow.

However I cannot sleep without commenting on this:

And the routine was apparently a little saucy (I’ll confess I didn’t see it).

HOW CAN YOU BE SO JUDGEMENTAL OF A ROUTINE YOU DID NOT SEE?

As a mother of 2 girls, I found nothing at all "saucy" about this routine, nor the Beyonce Single Ladies styled costume which had one full sleeve and a low cut leg! There were many many briefer costumes on display, and many 'fanny flasher' mounts from other schools, not this one who are so beautifully technically trained that they don't do so. In retrospect, I find it funny that you have used this term - that's what I called them on the night, perhaps you were sitting behind me? There was definetly no "grinding and gyrating, crotch grabbing," in this routine, perhaps you should've stayed to watch? Also there was nothing sexual in the song.

Believe me, I've been around eisteddfods for years. I have seen inappropriate: 7/u girls in white corsets and undies gyrating to "White Wedding"; 12/U girls dancing to "Man Eater" whilst wrapping their legs around a boys waist..
This routine was not like that.

It was a new style of jazz which has taken the US by storm. It's a jazz fusion style which incorporates partner work in a ballroom style. If the sight of girls and boys doing partner style work is too shocking for some, then they have the problem.Mandy xxxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06309150075397358286noreply@blogger.com
